The world-famous Selene Restaurant relocates at Katikies Garden a former monastery in the heart of Fira town, and a proud member of Katikies Family. A landmark for food lovers, Selene Restaurant, for more than 30 years has been recognized for the finest dining experiences in Santorini with its creative cuisine inspired by the local culinary heritage of Santorini. Since its establishment, in 1986, Selene Restaurant has been a pioneer of the Santorinian gastronomy, with its high-end spin on traditional recipes offering a different approach to its eclectic clientele. Its creator, Mr Yiorgos Hatziyiannakis, preserved the Cycladic heritage by using humble products from Santorini and collaborating also with wine producers, evolving Santorini to a top gastronomic destination, offering to its guests’ a unique taste of its culture. Together with Chef Charis Nikolouzos, will continue and develop the legacy of this legendary restaurant inside the enchanting environs of Katikies Garden.
Adding to its rich history, the former monastery housing Selene Restaurant was the place where the Vinsanto wine was originally produced, stored and distributed to the Vatican. A space filled with heritage and tradition, with emerald hues, soft rose tints and alluring black and cream backdrops. Selene’s antique wine caves and restaurant will mesmerize every sense, excite every taste bud with flavors and aromas arising from the depths of the past and ascending to the fine culinary revelations of the future.
